The Vigilia describes the use of all five senses to read or interpret
nature as you would a book or volume of sacred text. It attach's these
senses to virtues such as beauty, love and wisdom, while incorporating
feminine aspects of divinity, the triple Goddess. Primus Veritas or first
truth is the concept of truth though nature, which implies that nature it
self is our sacred text.
The Vilglia is not restricted to a gender based conception, there is a
masculine version and just as the Vigilia has many themed versions of
itself, so do we. But the concept and philosophy remain constant and
Vigil, use your own natural senses to interpret the gospel of nature and
find your own truth.
Most Wiccans follow the harm none rule and the Wiccan Rede, which is
a poem developed in the twentieth century and was believed to be
adapted from Aliester Crowley's Great Law, of whom it is said to be
adapted from another piece of work. In addition many strongly believe
in the “threefold law”, which is a karma concept that states that any
energy you send out will return to you three times as strong.
While we acknowledge the positive intention of these concepts and
believe they deserve consideration and interpretation, we do not
recognize them as a sacred text or as any volume of law. We are not
bound by them nor do we rely on them to define what is morally or
ethically acceptable. We believe the ethics of our intentions and
the morality of our actions are defined by natural law.
